I am wondering will they keep Warehouses past this year? Would be my favorite card to use at Costco if so !
So far in the past billing period I used my Freedom basically only at Costco and once dining and made $30 in CB so far... Probably make around $100-$150 in CB depending on how much i spend at costco and amazon ? Would be worth it to keep this card for the foreseeable future for me at least.

Good Question.
I want the Freedom card, but scared with rumors they might get rid of it and switch everyone over to Freedom Unlimited? I'd HATE that.
I would say go for it ... At worse youll be grandfatered in for a bit I would assume. I have the FU but TBH at 1.5% I would rather just use my Citi Hilton and just get Hilton points then. 5% at Costco is just 2 good to give up lol.

Nobody has a crystal ball. While it seems they are definitely advertising the Unlimited more, and trying to get more signups for it instead of the regular 5% Freedom, even if/when the original Freedom is taken away, you'll probably be grandfathered for a bit. Citi still grandfathers the 5% Dividend which has been dead to signups for 2+ years. Eventually, yes, you'd be forced to the new product.
This is all specuation though, no one really knows.
As far as the OP, I doubt they'd keep warehouse clubs as a permanent 5% category, but you may see it reappear if the card sticks around.
Thanks to a timely forced conversion of my ancient Chase Flex Rewards to a Freedom, I have *three* Freedom cards for May through December.
Whenever I check out at Costco, the cashier wants to run the charge on my Citi Costco card, but I stop them and say "I won't be using that card until next year," and I run a Freedom card instead.
If Chase continues the warehouse club 5% into 2017, I'll keep using Freedom there, but I highly doubt that will happen. So starting Jan 1, I'll be using my Citi Costco card at the Costco checkouts. 'Course if Chase does 5% for Gas on the Freedom, then my Freedom cards will get some use at the Costco gas pumps. We'll have to wait for the calendar to appear (most likely mid-November to mid-December).
Chris.

Costco gas is excluded from Chase bonus category, as well as 2% cashback reward for Costco Executive membership.

I figured but at the same time it would probably give chase so much usage it could be worth it IMHO.

There's a post on /r/churning stating that the Freedom is staying. It's being rebranded the Freedom Ultimate.

Have Ink+, CSP AF due, so went for another Freedom. Rep couldn't find "regular" freedom, so they offered "Freedom Ultimate." More signs towards product rebranding this month.
