I have Chase Freedom card for several years. Considering that this card is Visa and the new Flex card is Mastercard, I expect that product change may result chaning the account number. If it would be the case, it may result closing the old aged account and opening a new accont that may result credit score degradation.
Could somebody inform the consequences of this PC? Is there any downside? If it may hurt the credit report, I may keep the Freedom Visa Card and in future, I would apply for Flex Mastercard (but not PC).
The history of the account is retained. All Chase does is switch your account number and network type. If you're subscribed to any CMS, the only alert you may potentially receive is "account number change" (or something to that effect). So, in a nutshell, no AAoA or AoYA impact with the PC.
Good. Therefore, I go for PC.
Can the PC request be done online (e.g. Chase secure mesage)?

Yes and no. Yes you can submit the request via SM, but they may want you to call them. They would need confirmation that you're aware of the account number and network change.
FWIW,
I pondered either PCing to Flex or new apping. Ended up apping for the Flex and closed my Freedom. (opened 5/17) Don't regret it.
If your under 5/24 and you PC, you give up the $200 SUB and I'm not sure if you also give up the 5% grocery.
I PC'd my CF to CFF. The 5% categories are the same, the CL stays the same, and for the most part the Chase offers are the same or similar. The difference is its a Mastercard. If you don't care about that, then the advantages of the card is the 3% categories.
For the moment, I almost don't see major differences, if I PC to Flex or if I keep Freedom. I also don't see major differences between Visa and Mastercard (is there any?). Since Flex has more perks, these benefits might be useful in future after the pandemic gets over (Lyft, Doordash, etc.).
For dining, the new USB Attitude Go seems to the best available card.

Chase requires a call for PC.

Costco.
And it is big difference if the CFF has wharehouse clubs as a category.

CFF does have wholesale clubs as a 5% category in 2021 Q1, also has internet, cable & Phone Services as well as select streaming services.
