My experian score finally reflects an old derog that is removed. I decided to check and see if there was anything I pre-qualified for with an Experian score. TU I think is frozen because I am in the dispute process with them. Anyway, the Chase site states I am pre-qualified for a Freedom card. Does this sound right with an EX fico score of 681?
From my n=1 experience, it sounds right. I was preq'd for Slate and Freedom in the high 600s, and preq'd for CSP once a baddie fell off and my score jumped above 700.
Does Chase pull Experian? They pulled Equifax when I apped.
I was approved for the CSP with a collection in my report.
I was preapproved for CSP and got it on Friday with a 2013 60-day late payment on a HELOC. Obtained freedom in 2012 and amazon in 2014. Three baddies from 2010 still on report. Maintained good relationship with chase for several years with no problems.
Yeah, 680 is a pretty typical score for approval for the Freedom. I have seen people get rejected with higher, but, on the other hand, I have seen plenty of people approved with less, sometimes much less. I, for example, was approved with quite a bit less as you can see in my sig...although, for some reason, I scored rather highly on Chase's internal scoring model (for some reason that even I can't explain), and ultimately, that's a more important deciding factor than your actual FICO scores.
chase pre approvals are like gold. I wish i could get one lol. Ive had 6 chase cards in about a year i closed my chase amazon but i never once got a pre approval.
Also, I might wait to app and see if the have a better sign up bonus if you do not really need the card right away. The 200 dollar bonus is a great deal when they have it.
Equifax is the only score that hasn't updated for me with the removal of this derog. That score is 624 so I don't think they pulled it. TU jumped almost 40 points today. Experian is my best score because it has an 18 year old account the others don't have. Other than that, all info is identical across the board. AAoA is 2 years higher with EX and worth a 25 pt difference it seems. In one hand I want to jump on this offer. The other hand says garden and by the end of the year, you can get better starting limits. I hate this little credit devil that is sitting on my shoulder lol
