Chase Freedom Unlimited Upgrade

Hey there.

I just received an email from Chase stating that my Freedom Unlimited card will be upgraded to a Visa Signature card and will have contactless payment. I’m wondering is this something they’re doing across the board with that product, or is it unique to me based on my credit profile or something?

Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited Upgrade

its probably related to each individual. My CFU has always been visa siggy.

It's not an individual profile thing, it's everyone with gradual rollout

I received a similar email today. My CF has been over 5k for 5 months.

Edit: Also, I ran and checked, no free auto CLI. 😢

If you mean PCing your CFU to CSP, you can do that after a year of history. I see your CL is $5k, which is sufficient.

If you mean upgrading your Visa Signature or Visa Platinum CFU to a Visa Signature Preferred CFU, then I'm not sure. Chase issues at least some Hyatt cards as VSP, but I don't know if it comes on any of their other products.

Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited Upgrade

I had the CSP and downgraded to Chase Unlimited but was thinking to upgrade back? That should be ok right?

My only hesitation is that I won't be able to apply to CSR if I have a CSP?

Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited Upgrade

Correct, you are no longer allowed to have more than one sapphire product. If you want the CSR though, there’s no real use for the CSP.

Dang it, i guess I'll wait til I'm done with the 5/24 rule and apply for the CSR then.

Not sure when you got CSP, but keep in mind Chase has 48-month language on Sapphire bonuses now.

I'm not aware of any offers that exclude that language.
