I applied chase Freedom and I had BOA cash reward card about 11 months at the time of application. Now BOA is about a year old, and I called reconsideration dept. They declined me two times today. What should I do for next step??
My Fico is 741....
The reason I declined was "Not enough credit history: credit history is too short".
1.BOA cash reward - opend 2013 AUG -Limits: $2,500
2.AMEX SPG - opend 2014 Jul -Limits: $2,000
3.AMEX Delta Gold - opend 2014 Jul -Limits: $15,000
4.Discover IT - opend 2014 Jul -Limits: $4,000
5.Barclays US Airways - opend 2014 Jul -Limits: $4,000
Total limits: $27,500
If they have declined you twice already then maybe the next step might be to let it go? But it would probably be useful to the senior members here if you listed the reasons for the decline and your credit history stats. Good luck!
You can try going through the EO.
What were your reasons for denial?
Reason is short history...sadly
wait another three months.
My reason for decline is short history

Your credit score is only one piece of the application. As you're experiencing now, there are many other factors that lenders look at. Chase is on the more conservative side. IMO, that isn't a bad thing. Just wait awhile and apply later. They'll eventually approve you.
If I was a lender, I would look at your application and see these reasons:
1. not enough history
2. short AAoA
3. too many inq within a short time
hmm.....if thats the only reason they gave you might have a chance with the EO. When I applied I had no credit card history at all. Unless they counted the two deferred loans that are both under two years old, still not absolutely sure how they figure that kind of stuff out.
You might have some luck with the EO but if not I would wait 3-6 months and try again

Go through the EO. It's the last thing that you can do. If they also deny you, then just wait it out. Remember, building a great credit history is not a race
You have a solid collection of cards right now. I don't see why it would be an issue to hold off on getting the Freedom for quite a while. Believe me. I feel your pain because I had really wanted to get in with Chase at one point and kept getting denied for similar reasons, especially for not having over a year of credit history and new accounts and inquiries, so for now, I've set that goal aside and probably going to try again next year as well as going for a Sallie Mae Mastercard and a BOA Cash Rewards to see what happens then.
