So I apped for the Chase Freedom card which in hindsight was a little silly. Oh well that ap itch has gone...kind of . Got the 7-10 days awaiting reply, got letter saying thanks but after reviewing your application we cannot approve you because 'Too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us'. Makes sense as I just got CSP less than 4 weeks ago. Thing is I didnt see any FICO score or other reasons for denial (I have delinquency on my credit report which I am disputing which always comes up in any app letter under reasons for your credit limit selection, APR selection etc).
Does this mean they didnt HP me and just saw the recent app for my Chase sapphire preferred? Didnt get an alert on score watch although during my apping spree only one of my credit card app HPs came up on my score watch alert

It's possible they declined just on recent account but I doubt it IMO. They more than likely pulled EX.

I figured ha ha they must have seen my app spree and thought **bleep**????? I opened some checking accounts and CDs with credit unions that all pulled my reports. Doesnt matter im gardening, 6 months from now time to hit up the CLs
If you truly want this card you should give them a ring. I got the same denial for Chase Freedom since I had opened up a Chase Amazon a week earlier. In my case no they did not do a hard pull so probably didn't with you either. I telephoned them and they just pushed the application through and I was approved.

+1
If your willing to take another HP go for it OP!
Cool. Im actually going to take a pass on this card in the end. I mainly wanted to use it for the 5% on gas but it is rotating and I ended up going for the Penfed card which is always 5% for gas.
Would be pumped if this didnt involve an HP, my EQ score dropped 20 points when my sapphire started reporting and with all the apps. Gardening mode for now....until another great card comes along ha ha ha j/k
Chase is the only bank that I've successfully reconned with - I applied for the Freedom about 10 days ago, was initially denied, then they conditionally approved my application as long as I get them a copy of my social security card and proof of address (faxed those in Friday, so I've got my fingers crossed). It was by far the most pleasant recon experience I've had since I felt like the credit analyst actually took the time to look at my application and credit report instead of just immediately dismissing it (like Citi has, for example).
Then again, if you don't think you really want the card after all, it's not a bad idea to just let it go - you won't take the AAOA hit that way. But I'm hoping to get this Freedom approved. After that, I just want a BCP (or BCE maybe) and a CIti forward, and then I'm set. I'll have a reward card for basically every situation.
However, if the Freedom and Discover keep having the same bonus categories, I guess the card isn't quite as useful.
They probably didn't do a hard pull. I applied for the Freedom and they said I had to many recent accounts too. When I called to recon, they advised they never did a pull due to that fact and if I wanted, they could do a pull. They did and I was approved.

Yeah, just about 30 more days on the gas deal.
So probably would have been less by the time you got the card.
Call the backdoor number, I just got them to give me the Chase Southwest sig for $5000.00 credit line. Really fast and nice, I had some inq from car and house shopping and they said no problem.
