I hope the last picture isn't too big. I'll be at work until 12 tonight so I posted a screenshot of the email on my phone from mobile.
Mods, please adjust as needed. Thanks.

Nice. This definitely looks like Chase trying to respond to Discover's Double Cashback offer. There's no indication though that Chase's is an offer available to everyone with a Freedom card - looks more like a targeted offer to use the card. I don't have a Freedom, but I get these offers from time to time to use my other cards. The Orbitz Visa sends different targeted offers about every other month. Citi Diamond Preferred sends offers of extra Easy Deal Points for a certain amount of use.
Maybe it's a limited targeted offer because if it was widespread we would have seen others posting about it.
To me, it's still not as good as the Discover offer. No matter how much you spend with this, you get $100. At least Discover's is unlimited (for the 2% anyway).
I dunno. Meh. To me, Freedom is just far behind Discover (on its own, cash back merits, not with the CSP transfer thing).

Sort of depends. This is $100 extra, so to get that on "normal" discover spend, you would need to spend $10K in those 6 months (and not get the bonus for another 6 months). But if you can max out the 5% categories, you would get $150 extra so Discover would win there

I agree with LTL on this, you could get (best case scenario) $450 back on 3,000 spend - much better than Discover.
But I do think that this was targeted and thus not a very exciting promotion!
Hope they take on Discover with this and it goes widespead.. It is a win for everyone Discover and Freedom holders alike and people that have both.. Competition is healthly and the consumer usually wins
.. Hope to wake up to an email about this or see within the next day or two or more people having this offer! Would love to transfer those 10k extra UR's plus whatever the regular UR's are from spending the amount.

Same here -- I have some big purchases coming up that I could spread out too for it (going to buy my fiance a PS4, need new contact lenses, etc.).
I never get special offers. ![]()
Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500I don't know if this is targeted or if we will start seeing emails shortly.. Since it starts july-dec.. I think it is going to be rolled out to most or maybe people with both Discover and the Freedom? We will deffinetly see more of these for sure, if not for everyone that has the Freedom.. Keep hooe people, I expect to see alot more email coming during the night hopefully!
I recieved the email earlier today while I was a work. I've been putting most of my spending on another card to meet a spend bonus, maybe that's why.
