Hi all,
This past Friday I applied online for the Chase Freedom card and was approved. It didn't give me a credit limit or anything, just said I was instantly approved and would be receiving my card in the mail in a few days. I called the next day and went through the automated system to find out the CL, rate, etc... I was wanting to see if they would be willing to increase my limit and wondered if it was too late to call? I still haven't received the card in the mail yet, but it has been 5 days since I was approved. Is this something I'd still have time to do or did I wait too long and need to wait a few months before requesting?
Hopefully someone that knows will chime in soon and help us out!
I asked when I was recently approved for my Chase Freedom. They told me you can ask for an increase any time, there are no limits. However, based on other experiences here, it will be a hard pull every time you ask.
I was approved in November of last year. I experienced the exact same thing as you with the instant approval. When I called I was very dissapointed to learn of the toy limit of 500.00. Last week I requested a CLI with a 699 myficoEQ and 671 myfico TU. The request was denied and it was a total waste of a HARD pull. It is my understanding that it is ALWAYS a HARD pull with Chase. YMMV

What reasons did they give for denial?

Yea I'm curious too as to the reason for the denial? Yea I definitely don't want another HP since I was just approved not even a week ago...I guess if it doesn't give you your CL immediately when you apply, if you don't call them back right away, then you just have to stick with what you're given unless you don't mind them HP your credit again :-(
That stinks.
I've had it for about 7 to 8 months now.
I'm not ever going to request a CLI. Unfortunately, the card is too good for me to close it down simply because it's by far the smallest CL in my portfolio.
If they want to give me auto-luv, they can go ahead, but a HP every time whether it is an approval or a denial, is definitely not worth it for me. Specially if they decide they only want to give me $500.
