With Chase its really luck of the draw. On "rare" occasions some ppl get increases "automatically" at 6 months. Some people dont. Usually when you request one its a HP and its a small amount. Not like AMEX where its 3x your current limit

So I have had my Chase Freedom since January and pay the bill in full every month if not only letting 15% hit the bill. So I keep inquiring about a credit line increase without a hp and one guy tells me he was going to refer my account to marketing and see what can be done, anyone know what this means? I just had my 7 month credit bill print today and still no cli! He said for marketing it takes 7-10 business days to hear back.
Realistically you should make no plans at ever getting a SP CLI increase from Chase. They only do auto increases for very few people and overall are not at giving out CLIs period even with an HP.
I recently called and requested a CLI to $6500 (had $3500) . Explained that I wanted to show lower utilization on my accounts and increase my CL because i had recieved one from CAP1 to match. Rep told me it would be a hard pull on my report and waited a few minutes, answered a few verification questions and boom got the increase. Still to this date my reports show no additional credit inquiry, this was last month when I recieved the increase.

You should feel special. It is very rare with Chase. I would never encourage someone to expect or wait for one. If it happens, it's a special treat :-)

It doesn't really mean anything. The response is what will mean something.

FWIW about 2 months ago I called into Chase to request a CLI on my Southwest card, and he asked how much I wanted to request or if I just wanted to not request a specific amount and see what the computer came back at. I was at a $10k limit, and the guy came back and asked if $28.2k was enough for the new CL. Of course I accepted It sounds like Chase may have tightened up policies since then, but that was the only time I have requested a CLI from them which was met with success.
People that get auto CLI's with Chase usually don't expect it or need to get higher limit.
Last October my best friend who has no relationship with Chase applied for Freedom through an invite from me, she had no relationship with Chase and lives in Vermont but has a 790 Fico across the 3 CRA's. She was instantly approved for 4k and was happy with it.
She has been putting around 1500 on it a month and paying it mostly all off. She received an auto CLI to 8k and another auto CLI to 13k last week. She actually doesn't like huge limits but I told her, dont call and ask them to decrease it lol!
