Im pretty young, turned 21 6 mos. ago, and after having a rough time establishing credit history (turned 18 right before the 08 meltdown & credit freeze), finally starting (or at least trying) to establish some good credit history.
Recently applied for and was instantly approved for a Cap1 cash rewards with a 500 CL, And I've had another Cap 1 for over 3 years, and recently took out a loan from Ford Credit (w/ cosigner) 23k @ ~4%
Just applied for the freedom, and wasn't instantly approved or denied. Got a message saying that it needed more time to process/ analyze my app.. Really don't want to have had a hard pull just to get declined, especially after banking exclusively with chase for over 4 years
Last time i checked, all of my scores were 640's-650's...not great, but trying to improve.
Is there still a chance for an approval or is this Chase's way of politely saying no
if you get declined called them for a recon they check bank history at that time
thanks for the tip...i've had checking, savings, student loan etc from them for years. never late on my loan pmt for the short period it went out of deferral, and only overdrew my checking once, and it was brought back to good standing the same day it was overdrawn, never even got hit with an nsf. never bounced a check. hopefully these things will make a difference if they decline
Just checked the status by phone...originally was told i'd have an answer within 30 days. Now it's saying i will recieve my decision by mail within 7-10 days. I'm guessing this either means declined or they want more info?
