Per several websites the Freedom/ Freedom Flex rotating categories for July-September 2021 are grocery stores and select streaming services.
good to know. thanks.
I'm a bit surprised Chase decided to have groceries as a 5% category in Q3 2021, considering they introduced the Freedom Flex in mid-September 2020 and many people are currently under a 12 month promo offer for 5% rewards on groceries. I thought they'd wait until Q1 or Q2 2022 to have groceries as a 5% category again. No big deal to me; I'll use the CFF for groceries during Q3 2021 either way.
I guess Chase wanted to throw a bone to their Chase Freedom cardholders.
Eventually I'll be able to take advantage of the 3% rewards on streaming services on both the Wells Fargo Propel and now Capital One SavorOne...![]()
(The Discover Cash It has had 5% rewards on select streaming services in Q2 2021.)

Chase has thousands of customers who likely don't have the special sign up offer who will be happy with a 5x grocery category.
It also is cheap for Chase as now the new customers earning the bonus already won't cost them additional dollars.

I expected Chase to have groceries as 5% rewards category on the CF/CFF in Q2 2021, and would have preferred if Chase had gas stations as a 5% rewards category on the CF/CFF in Q3 2021 rather than Q2 2021.
Nothing I can use, will be SD next quarter.
Yay! But this is effectively a "nothing" quarter for the Flex, as it gets groceries for 12 months anyway, and is less than 12 months old.
Glad I didn't spring for the new Citi CustomCash.

My highest spending category is currently groceries and I missed the grocery SUB, so this is excellent news! I should have no issue maxing this quarter out.

Not all Flex customers got that bonus. My hubby has a one month old Flex card and it doesn't have the 5% grocery bonus.
Useless categories for me.
I don't stream.
I have AMEX BCP for groceries, and I am at $1778 towards my $6000 cap, and already half through my 'year.'
This low spend is because wife and I took a 3 month "magical mystery tour" through Nutrisystem Land (it worked!), and now are back at the 'grocery' store !!
