Re: Chase. How to Handle This?

I wrote a secure message on my Chase account and they made a transfer for me. It was done the same day.

I didn't even think about that. Not too bad, I guess. So that tells me that I can move the limt over, which is good. I wasn't considering apping for another card with them, because I'm pretty sure I'm at the 5/24. I got 2 cards in Sept and 3 more in the last few months.

Some of their cards don't fall under the 5/24 rule being some of the co-branded ones and usually those are the bigger liimit ones..  Can't recall the ones off the top of my head but about 5-7 of their cards still don't fall under it although i believe most are an AF card although some have 1st year waived.

edit:  I believe these are the list of cards that are still ok beyong the 5/24 rule::

Chase IHG
Chase Hyatt
Chase British Airways
Chase Disney
Chase Fairmont
Chase Marriott Business:
Chase Ritz-Carlton
Chase Amazon
Chase AARP

Thanks for this list. Being on the threads a lot, I don't recall seeing a more detailed list like this to go off of. I probably need to look closely at these and see if there is one worth getting before making any moves. I had read on here that some cards may not apply, but I didn't get a sense of which ones for sure.

Not a problem would NOT want you to waste an inquiry or two for a dumb ruleSmiley Happy.. This is what we are here for, helping out each other!   Hyatt is a GREAT card if you stay at a hotel one night a year as it pays for itself easily plus the two free nights at ANY hyatt after spend bonus is met is worth up to 1500-2k if used correctlySmiley Happy..  Although alot of good cards listed.. Chase has the market on the best reward cards bar none imo.

That is why I posted lol. I'm i=on here a lot lately, and get a lot of info, but soon as it comes to my own situations I draw a blank. Plus I can never be too sure.Smiley Happy
I do stay at hotels several times a year, so this card could be in play. I'm liking the recommendationSmiley Very Happy

They moved one card to another?  That is an interesting way to do it. I've seen that people send them messages with success. I may have to go this route as I hate talking to them on the phone.

Re: Chase. How to Handle This?

I called in to get my limit moved but I left $500 on the card because I wanted to keep it open.

from what I inderstand if there has been activity in the last 30 days you have to keep $500 on there but if its sat mostly unsued for more than 30 days you can transfer the whole think over. I thought that is what I understaood from these boards.

Re: Chase. How to Handle This?

Oh okay. Mostly unused? It's crazy you mentioned this because I put $6 charge on it last week and paid it on purpose after not using it for about 2 months. I wonder if they'd give me the benefit of the doubt or still make me wait 30 days.

Re: Chase. How to Handle This?

I noticed Marriott Business isn't under the 5/24 rule but is the personal one as well?

Re: Chase. How to Handle This?

What about asking for a decent cli on the Freedom or upgrading it to the new Freedom?  I'm sure your scores will support a decent cli.

You asking if the personal card falls under the 5/24?

Sandibeach I for sure want to raise the limit on the Freedom. Are you talking about the Freedom Unlimited?

And by te way, I was looking into that FU card, and I'm not certain that upgrading to it would be worth it for me. I looked at the differences and it seems to depend on how you are spending or getting points.
