Chase Pay Yourself Back - Will there be any new redemption categories in the near future?

Or is this program about to die off?

I see that it was speculated in late 2021 that it may not even be extended to 2022.  To date, all they have offered it on this year have been Airbnb purchases and charity redemptions (maybe Uber at one point prior to March).  I was really hoping they'd bring it back for something useful like groceries again or maybe dining, gas, etc.  Has anything been announced anywhere on the future of the program past June 30th (when the current Airbnb promo dies)?

IMO, no.  Pay yourself back was do to COVID for cardholders that had UR point cards while travel was restricted and they couldn't use their points.  Basically all restrictions have been lifted and travel is back so back to using UR points for the purposes that they were made for.

Personal Cards: Amex Delta Res | CSR | Citi AA Exec | Citi Strata Premier Business Cards: Ink+ | Amex BBP

Makes sense.  Sounds like I should just redeem my points for statement credits, etc., without worrying about new categories. That's a bummer.Smiley Sad

Oh I don't know. Travel redemption can be kind of fun. Redemption for straight cash is fine, you get the cash. But then you don't have the experience of the travel.

Well, the issue with travel is we don't do much of it and, when we do, we book places that reward points aren't generally able to be used on (cabin rentals, privately owned beach condos, B&Bs, etc.).  I almost never stay in hotels, though that could change with my daughter playing club volleyball.  We already have two stays in this year just for that.  I'll have to think on it.
