DW has the CSR that has seen no travel use in the last two years. We have about 170K points saved but unsure if we should still keep them for (far-future) airline partner flights or use them for the 50% redemption bonus thru PYB. We've already redeemed 26K points for dining & groceries so it's very tempting to do the same with most of our existing points. I wouldn't be asking (today!) if the PYB bonus for dining & groceries is not scheduled to end by the end of the month. What do you think?
i would use them
i have a thing about keeping points too long - so i would rather use them, than lose them

Normally with travel you can get better redemption rates with certain travel partners. HOWEVER with the csr those points are worth more and they haven't even said if PYB is ever going to be a feature again after September 30 (for non charity's anyways). So in my opinion id use the points because you'll be getting max value for those transactions instead of once pyb expires. And you can always accumulate more points for travel super quick.

It seems more practical that way given all the travel restrictions in place, doesn't it?
@Anonymous, indeed, the uncertainty of the PYB bonus beyond 09/30 is what prompted me to pose this question. Although, saving our points for future travel is appealing too because we don't earn huge amounts of points outside of food and grocery expenses (though apping for a new card for the SUB is an option). Since we don't travel, it does seem like redeeming points thru PYB is a more practical approach.
I have used all my UR up using PYB on restaurant expenses. For recent actual travel, I used USB AR points and (separately) AA miles that had gone unused for ages. Certainly not as flexible as UR points, but for now, PYB seems a good use!

PYB on the CSR is such a great deal. Extending it or making it permanent will make point redemption with Chase a lot more versatile, IMO.

OP, I'm hoping that PYB sticks around...and since the CSR didn't get any useful changes (in my opinion) it'd be really nice if they not only kept it around but also for useful categories such as dining and grocery.
I'm on the fence like you are. I'm hoping some sort of info comes out before the end of the month otherwise I've got quite of few that I'm definitely going to cash out. Not all of them...but a good chunk of them for sure.
I'm doubtful that we'll get any good PYB news before the end of the month. If nothing changes in 2 weeks, then DW and I will most certainly end up emulating you: cash out a good chunk of our UR points.
PYB has to be redeemed on specific types of charges, within a certain time frame? Or you can reach back several months to get appropriate charges to PYB? Posing the question because that's a lot of points to redeem.
I agee that using PYB at a known 1.5c today makes sense given that future travel value is a potential devalue proposition.
Is DW keeping the CSR? Because that's a significant AF ( $250 net now? ) with no travel usage.
