Chase Product Change Data Point with leap year

So I opened my United Gateway on 4/18/23 and I called in today to upgrade it to the United Club card. The customer service rep said that the card isnt eligible until after 12am on 4/19/24. 

So you can only product upgrade the day after the day you opened it, it doesnt matter if it is a leap year and you are at 366 days.

Why not apply for club card and get a SUB?

Upgrade gives you nothing.

How long to under 5/24?  If not too long wait and at least get a sub for the first year AF cost.

if you are close to a branch, see if you are pre approved over 5/24 for the club card.

12 months to be under 6/24. I mean all else fails I use it for a year, drop it back down to a gateway and apply for it again for the sub. also no chase branches locally.

I have been reading 5/24 might not be has restricted after April 2023.

Might be worth a shot, it's a $550 AF United card and not part of the Saphire family.
