Chase Product Change

Hi all,

I have been reading about a number of people doing "product changes" with their CC. I just got a chase freedom card (like 2 weeks ago) and while I don't want to change yet, I would LOVE to have a chase Southwest card (I fly southwest to get home to california frequently).  I have a couple of Questions about this...

1. How long should you have a card before you change?
2. Is the southwest card "harder" to get than the freedom card?
3. Would I be better of waiting a while, establishing a history with Chase, then apping for the SW card?

Thanks!

Bridget

Re: Chase Product Change

I thought I read something about 6 months from new account, but could be totally wrong, I know it's 30 days between product changes for another change.
the offer has to be available for you to product change to, not every chase card offered is available to product change to, not sure who or how that is decided, but I really want a speedway card and that is never been an offer on any of our accounts.

Re: Chase Product Change

I asked and got my product change approximately 90 days after I got it. From flex rewards to freedom. They may hassle you about the co-branded card Southwest. But worth a shot anyway good luck.

Re: Chase Product Change

Do you think I would have a better chance waiting 6 months and just applying for the Southwest card?
