Chase Recon Question

Hello Everyone!

Back in February I was approved for a Chase Southwest Premier card with a 5K SL.  It was/is my first Chase card and definitely my highest limit.

In early April I applied for and was denied for the Chase Hyatt Card---I called recon way too early and it didn't go well.  The main reason for my denial was that I had a 30 day late for another card in December, and the analyst felt that it was too late since that event to approve a new card.  Now, I won't go into the story, but I've since overturned that 30 day late, and now it has been 7 months since my last late, and I have great utilization across all my cards (at 1%).

Do you think I should recon again, now that the late has been overturned or should I wait---I'm at 4/24 right now with my 5th approval completed but not showing up yet, so I want to get another Chase card before they "shut the door".  Do you think it would be better to start a new app instead?  The simulator gets me 15 more points on May 1---which would put me at 705 EX.

Thanks!

Re: Chase Recon Question

Sorry to say anything past 30 days is to late to recon

The only thing you can do now is re-apply

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Definitely don't app again for the same card.  You can recon up to 30 days after your denial.  Call them up, it can't hurt, but still be prepared to deal with your late payments.  7 months reallly isnt that long ago in the credit world.  Good luck.

Maybe we are reading it differently but wasn't the denial in early April so OP should be within the 30 days.

Re: Chase Recon Question

Ok, thanks---I have a plan to discuss the late payments as I know that will still come up!

I'm assuming they will pull another EX report to verify---should I wait till May to recon to get the extra 15 point boost?

Don't thinks it's necessary.  There is no guarantee that your scores will go up 15 points.  The simulator isn't always accurate.

I wouldn't wait to recon

I don't think the 15pts is a killer just what they stressed the lates
