Just had to pull the trigger. The 50,000 points were too good to pass up. Now I just have to figure out how to spend $3k in three months.
We come close with our monthly expenses.

I usually just run everything I have through the new card... Cable, mobile, electric, car insurance, gas, groceries, dinner, etc. I don't understand the whole buy a bunch of gift cards idea, it seems nefarious and the trick with a rewards card is not to carry a balance and get finance charges which negate the rewards. (They want this to happen...)
Book a trip, buy your wife/girlfriend a present to make up the difference if need be but try to pay that thing in full.
