Chase Slate Approval on Recon, but...

I applied online for Chase Slate and got the 30 day message.  Called the app status line and said it was under review.  I hit 0 and spoke to a CSR and she sent me to a Credit Analyst who told me the app was declined.  He started asking me about the 5-6 baddies on my CR and the 3 tax liens.  He said, oh wait, the tax liens have been released and asked me about the baddies.  Told him they are all falling off this year and he verified it.  Put me on hold for 5 minutes and transferred me to verification dept.  After verification, she said congrats, approved.

The bad news, I called a CSR and she told me the CL was $400.  That's a terrible CL.  I have an Amex PR Gold, BofA Cash Rewards CL 1500, and Wells Fargo CL 3000. Has anyone started out with a low CL like this with Chase and gotten CLI's in the future?

I guess I should feel lucky to get in with Chase with 5-6 baddies!  Thoughts?

Yes, pure jealousy. I was simply denied due to my inquiries. Can you say "not fair?"

Seems commonplace quicklly looking around here. My Freedom was approved last week for 500. When it gets here, im calling for a CLI. They didnt bother to even mention it on their site.. i called the hotline App status thing-ah-mah-jing and found out that way to my displeasure

If you don't mind me asking, what was the conversation like? I recently spoke to a Barclay rep who reversed my app. in a matter of minutes, Chase, though, is just a nightmare.

The analyst brought up the baddies on my CR and how recent they were.  I said no, they are old and falling off this year, but recently updated.  He looked and agreed.  In terms of the $400 CL, is it worth a shot to ask for a CLI now?

The $400 CL does seem low, and I have seen some recent posts on here of users that have been getting under $1,000. Personally, I would take it and run because a successful recon with Chase, from my understanding is very hard. I believe they follow the same criteria as BofA, reviewing the account periodoically (Every 6mos.) I say use the card and PIF each month, although you have to with such a small CL
