Re: Chase Trifecta question

So, if I transfer $500 a month from another ckg acct/bank to a Chase ckg acct., then there is no mo fee? It says DD, so wouldn't they know a bank trsfr is not a DD?

Correct, just make sure to "push" the money in, not "pull". For Chase, this will satisfy the DD requirement, even though technically it's not really a DD. If you "pull" money into your Chase checking account, it would be considered a funds transfer. Each month, I'm currently "pushing" $500 or more from my USAA checking account to my Chase checking account to avoid the monthly fees - In other words, do the funds transfer on the USAA website, not Chase.

Thanks! I'll check w/my bank and see how to do this. I pay bills online all of the time, but have never done a trsfr from my ckg acct. Smiley Happy

Which bank or CU? Some charge fees for doing this.

Re: Chase Trifecta question

Small local bank. (Much friendlier than the "big" banks, but their online system leaves a little to be desired.) Smiley Happy

I recommend Alliant CU, which has a good online banking interface, great rates, and a great ACH hub.

I think you misunderstood. I was asking which external bank/CU she will use to transfer money into Chase.

Re: Chase Trifecta question

Thanks. I'll call my bank tomorrow and see if they charge. I could always do a dep to NFCU and then trsfr to chase. Seems like a lot of hoops, though. Does NFCU charge to push a trsfr.?

No, Navy Federal CU does not charge a fee for outgoing (or incoming) transfers. Alternatively, as someone else mentioned, you could also just park $1,500 or more in the Chase checking account to avoid any monthly fees.
