They may not blacklist but they certainly have a long memory. Before they let me have the CSP, they grilled me about an old Providian Visa that turned to Wamu, that they eventually inherited. I had just about had it with the rep and her rudeness was about to just to say screw it when she finally stopped critiquing me and put me on hold. Came back with an approval for $7k and it has never received and auto increase and I will never call for one as I WILL NOT go through that kinda of grilling for any credit card ever again. Just not worth it to me.
Once you burn Chase, they'll always have a record of it. I burned them back around 2005 and when i tried couple yrs ago for the Hyatt card, they asked me about it.
I told them I was younger and more irresponsible with money back then but have since corrected it.
But i would imagine it definitely needs to fall off your credit report before they'll approve you again. Applied for the United card recently and they asked me about the chargeoff again - gave them the same answer.
How much did you burn them for? Im assuming you were denied?

Does anyone have any knowledge whether or not Chase's long memory ever forgives a settlement? I had to do a settlement with them about five years ago. I completely met the terms of the settlement, however they ended up getting a few thousand dollars less because of the deal. Any idea if I will ever make it off of their so-called "blacklist"?
They are more forgiving with a settlement. My friend settled with them and was able to get back in the door 8 years later. They had to recon and it did come up.
They denied my Freedom Unlimited app because of a WAMU CO that was already 7+ years old at the time, and this is after approving me for CSP initially for 9k. On a 3rd recon call the guy agreed to give me the FU if I split the CSP's limit.
That CO was paid in full after a few years mind you, and was not even with Chase directly.
For some reason, the Marvel card and Blispay are beginning to look better then the AARP and Disney cards

I burned them for about 12k but it had already dropped off by then, and my credit score was up to about 760 so i was accepted for CL of 5k.
I dont have the Hyatt card anymore bc i canceled it recently and transfered the limit to my United card.

I hear ya, but at least they approved you.
