Chase combining accounts

Hi everyone, I accepted an offer last October for the Chase slate and and they gave it to me with a $1,000 limit. A month later, I received another offer from chase for the Freedom Unlimited and accepted it and got it for $1,500.  This June (about six months later) Chase increased my Freedom to $4,000.  My slate is still very sad with $1,000. I dont want to call and ask for an increase because I don't want the HP. It's not worth it for me for that card. Other than no interest for a few more months, it has no benefits. Should I call and see if I may combine the two into my Freedom and make it $5K? I should mention I bank with Chase and they have my checking and savings. thanks.

Sure , why not. If you arent going to use the slate , best to utilize that cl where you can. Beauty of ChaseSmiley Wink

Re: Chase combining accounts

I recently closed a Chase account combining the credit lines into other Chase cards. Very easy to do on the phone.

I did have to leave $500 on the card I was going to close. So, you may lose $500 in credit line.

Yeah YMMV with combining limits. Some people have luck with the whole thing, most of us get all but $500.

Based on posts here, I think you can move the whole limit if the card has had a zero balance for a couple of months.

+1 HeavenOhio
That's what I had to do -- go 2 statements with a $0 balance and the balance on the Slate was reallocated to the FU. However, Chase did a SP before moving the balance, which surprised me.
