Chase credit journey - no preapproved offers

Hello, folks. First post on the forum.

I just recently signed up for Chase credit journey after meeting with a chase representative in person (went for an in-branch SUB). He mentioned that I would see preapproved card offers with information to help decide which cards might be available. However, I don't see any of those in the app. Any ideas why?

My credit is currently frozen at all 3 bureaus. Could that be causing it? I also already have 3 chase cards and a few from other issuers. 800+ FICO score.

thanks!

I've never had any pre-approved offers via Credit Journey although I did through the pre-approval link.  Some of us never feel that love from Chase.

In my experience, Chase stops showing preapproved card offers if you have applied for 5 or more cards in the past 24 months; this is part of the Chase 5/24 rule.  The offers resume a few weeks after the frequency goes down to 4/24.

If you have ever burned Chase on a credit card before, they will put you in the no-new-credit-cards penalty box for a bunch of years. I burned them about 10 years ago, and i have just started to see pre-auth offers on the chase site in the past few months.  Not their best cards, just their entry level cards.

I have had a chase checking account and a chase card for 14 years now.

This may not apply to you, just mentioning it on the off chance that it does.

I burned Chase for north of ten-grand in my 2015  Chapter 13; in 2022 while I was opening a checking and savings account the associate in my local branch asked if I wanted a credit card as well.  Bingo, CSP with a starting limit of $11,700.  FWIW, I checked Credit Journey before I went in and it said the only thing I'd be approved for was a savings account.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Hmmm, I always just look for pre-approvals on the main Accounts page (all I ever see is a car loan), I hardly ever click on the Credit Journey page so I didn't know different pre-approvals would be there.  I looked and, yeah, I have two Ink offers.  I don't even have a business!  lol

Re: Chase credit journey - no preapproved offers

Thanks everyone for the advice. Interesting. I don't see anything like that, @ptatohed

I've not burned Chase or any other issuer. And I should only have 1 credit opening in last 24 months (from Chase). Was approved for a Freedom Unlimited. Was hoping to see offers for one the Sapphire cards, but getting nothing in credit journey. Guess I'll just wait or maybe go into a branch to ask. Thanks again everyone.

I didn't think you would see offers if your credit was frozen?

That's what I wasn't sure about. Are people unfreezing their credit just to get offers? I don't think that's worth the risk for me.
