Re: Chase freedom denied-should I call recon line?

I had around 7 months of history when I was approved for the Chase Slate and then the Chase Amazon a month later.

I personally would apply for the Amazon to get my foot in the door and then garden for a year. Have a card reporting 5,000 for a year to show Chase how you handle those limits. When I asked for a CLI on my cards to 8,000, Chase told me they needed to see a year's worth of history on the cards that I do have with 5,000 or more. I would do this if I wanted the Freedom, specifically, not so much for a Slate or Amazon. Why? The Freedom has some great benefits that anything less than 5,000 wouldn't allow you to take advantage of IMO(unless you're going to be paying it multiple times a month). Freedom shouldn't be used as the "Get in with Chase" card. a $500 Freedom seems almost criminal.  IMHO. From what I hear, those $500 limits never grow either.

Lol. You guys fail to see the humor in my post. Eventually an analyst will cave in and give the OP the worst possible terms.

And chances are you are probably right.  But, unless the OP wants to rant later on the forums on the injustice of only getting $500 with a 22.9% APR and no CLIs, well I suppose it's a win-win situation Smiley Tongue

I'm really clueless when it comes to credit outside of "pay your bill in full monthly" and don't let it go late. I don't want too many hard pulls but I also want another card to get my foot in the door.
