with cap1 the problem is they not accept puerto rico , barclay and credit one the same , the rest banks not problem.

i figured if they accept visa or mastercard then they wouldn't worry about which bank it came from

In that case, you would be better served by going with Citibank. At last count, they had 5 branches there and I assume ATMs. You might find that going into a branch to resolve any issues is easier than having communication issues over the phone.
Not sure what the issue is with Cap1. Puerto Rico is considered a part of the US and therefore has to abide by the same US banking regulations as any other bank. Good Luck!

When did you last pull your reports?  It would help to have a known starting point.

I actually have never pulled my reports, does that take a hit on your scores? whats the easiest way to go about getting them?

checking your reports doesn't affect your credit it just improved your knowledge. i use the $25 service here at myfico for all three scores and the $15 experian report too.

I don't think it matters with Chase Freedom. You might as well get in with them if you're pre-qualified on their site.

 

There are relatively few people with sizeable Freedom credit lines anyway.
