Chase lets you lock and unlock your cards now

I got an email from Chase a few days ago (which landed in my spam folder so I didn't notice it until today).  I'm assuming this is a new feature, I didn't know about it before, and I didn't see any recent threads here about it so...

They now offer the option to lock and unlock your credit card from the website or mobile app.  It's under the three-dot menu under Account Services.  See screenshot.  This is handy if you lose or misplace your Chase card.  According to the website, "New purchases, cash advances and balance transfers are instantly blocked. Fees, credits and recurring transactions aren't affected."  You can lock or unlock your card anytime.

It's been around since I got my card (which is only a month ago) so I actually thought this was a feature they've had for a while. That's interesting actually.

From what I've seen Discover has it, Chase has it, Citi has it, but haven't found the feature for American Express. Am I just not looking hard enough?

I think it is recent but super useful. My DH left his Chase Amazon at the airport and I was able to lock it and order a new one right from the app.

That feature is hugely beneficial in certain cases of, well, when a colleague decides to hide your wallet and then leave work for the day.  It will save you from reporting them all stolen for a short time Smiley Tongue.

Good information! My landing page is different from what you show and no option exists to turn cards on and off. Wonder if it is a benefit with certain card products?
