Chase mailing issues...anyone else?

I applied for the Chase Freedom back in November to get the $200 bonus for $500 spend in 3 months. Thought it was a good deal, and definitely doable with the holidays coming up. I was approved on November 17th. Card is supposed to show up at your door in 2 weeks or less. Below is the timeline of the past 7ish weeks with Chase...

Timeline:

November 17th - Applied & instantly approved.

December 3rd - Made a phone call to inquire about the card that I had to yet receive. Normally cards will come within a week, so I thought this was weird. They cancel the 1st card, and reissue a second card. I figure okay, just a small snafu, everything will be fine shortly.

December 12th - An envelope from Chase comes in the mail. I assume that this is second issued card, since almost a month had passed since I orginally applied. Thought the 1st card may have been "lost in mail heaven".  A CSR told me that, no, this was indeed the first card. She asked me if I wanted to cancel the second card as well, and that they would send me another. I told her, no & that I would wait since 2 weeks had not passed just yet.

December 20th - Rolls around. Still no mail from Chase. This was over 2 weeks AFTER they said they had reissued a second card. We are now a month or so into the process. I call again, and ask where is the card? Has it been mailed? etc. They cancel the SECOND card, and re-issue a THIRD.

January 6th - I let some time pass, especially with the holidays and such. STILL NO MAIL FROM CHASE. We are going on nearly 2 months since I have been approved, and still NO CARD!!!

I had something similar happen with Discover earlier this year (October, maybe?). I had applied, been approved, and no card arrived within the 2 week timeframe. Called into them, spoke with a CSR who was very apologetic. Apparently the mail had been delivered back to Discover for some unknown reason. She said it happens sometimes. Anyways, she agreed to overnight me the card at no cost to me. That card arrived the very next day (as promised).

Has anyone experienced anything like this with Chase or any other CC company? I'm kind of annoyed with the entire situation, and am about ready to just ask them to close the card/account since there seems to be some issue between Chase & them mailing me their credit cards and any other information I may need.

Call em up and ask them to send you a card and have it expedited via UPS. I ask every lender to expedite my cards for everything. always get a tracking # that way.

Only issue I ever had with Chase mailing was when I requested chip freedom cards for my BF and myself instead of sending 2. They sent us 4. They said it was a mistake.

Same thing with our CSP they sen us 4 total also for that card.

When you call them up again, you may want to bring up regarding how long it is taking you to receive a card that you can activate and use. This way, your minimum spend timeframe for your signup bonus can be extended. It is not your fault as to why 2 months into account opening you have no Freedom card to use.

Are there a postmark dates on the envelopes?  As stated above, you can always request that they ship via a traceable method if this is a problem for you.

Re: Chase mailing issues...anyone else?

I didn't think about asking for it to be tracked in a way that I would have a routing number. I figured that if it was an option, they would have mentioned it. Just like the Discover CSR did. That's something to think about for sure.

Also, the first card was postmarked December 2nd; received December 12th. Beyond that, I am unsure when any were postmarked as I have only received that one some time ago.

I finally received a card in the mail today and was able to activate it. So, I still have no idea where the 2nd card they sent ended up, as this is the third one they sent out.

As a side note, I also sent them a SM asking about an extension since almost 2 months were wasted, and they told me no. Smiley Frustrated

post on their twitter or facebook and be like "It took you 2 months for me to receive my credit card from you and now I may not be able to hit spend for my signup bonus"

They'll message you back and work it out. They're good like that.
