My Chase CC was showing a 30-day late in Sept 2004.
I sent a polite GW letter on Aug 16th asking if they would consider removing the "late" designation.
On Sept 1st, received a letter in the mail that did not address my request to remove the "late" but included copies of my statement for the month of Sept 2004.
This morning I used their secure email option on the website to send a modified version of my GW letter.
Thirty minutes later received the following:
We carefully researched your account records and found
that the delinquency did occur. Because the information
on the credit bureau report is correct, we are unable to
remove it.
While we sympathize with your situation, we are unable to
alter valid information reporting to the bureaus. We may
not change information unless it is reported in error.

Sooo.. I guess that's a dead-end. It's a three year old delinquency now so I'm guessing it's not affecting my score much, but it would have been nice to have it gone.
