Re: Chase or Discover ?

Albert I am a bit confused here my man.  In your first post, you say you are "trying" to get your utilization down to under 50%.  In another post you listed your cards and current limits which total 21k.  This implies that with your 1 year of credit history, you currently owe over $10,500.  It seems you are searching for any card that will buff your utilization.  You say that you PIF every month.  If you (PAY IN FULL), you would not be "trying" to get your UTI below 50%.  I think you made a wise choice to garden.  The new account openings have not brought your score down that much but what has brought your score down is the current UTI of those accounts have dropped you over 70 points.  Garden and pay down the balances.  Your score will rise with time.  Good luck AL!

I mean you could say i was trying to buff up my Util so my credit wouln't take such a hard hit and maybe grow a little in the process, I pay every card in full beside one which is the one with the highest utilization cause bought something and they offered to apply but didn't know it was a credit card with a fixed rate and fixed months, Just thought it was a loan but yeah im just gonna garden my credit and try to get my credit down by making more payments

Yeah. Just hang tight for a while. Definitely stay away from applying to Chase right now. It's highly likely you'll be denied. They are thin file sensitive, util sensitive, and new credit sensitive. Work on getting your Util down by paying down what you owe.
