Every other time i have checked the prescreened offers from chase nothing even popped up but the last month alot of good this have happened to my file. Baddies fell off, completed student loan rehab. So the only thing left thats bad on my file is just the lates from the Sudent loan but it shows paid as aggreed.
So my question is I checked last night just to see again on the Chase prescreen offers and this time the Slate and the Freedom card was on there saying I could get them. Does this mean I can start appying for good cards now? my fico went up from like 595 to 653 right now.
What does your EX look like? Chances are chase will pull that rather than EQ. Chase has been a little more liberal recently in approving Freedom (which is the better card of the two unless you have balance to transfer) - they even gave me one Do you have a relationship with them already? How long is your history on the 3 cards you have, how many inquires and any recent apps for credit? Depending on those answers, you might be in a position to get a $500 limit on a Freedom, but as with anything YMMV. Recon is your friend though.

My EX is good to, not sure the score on it but it looks the same as profile goes. Yes thats the bank that I use also. The 3 cards history I have is well over a year, the only inq are from my auto loan a few months back. Before I apply for anything i'm going to make a deposit on my Cap1 secured card and max the limit out to $2000 so I at least start with a good limit.
The whole reason i'm asking is because I was just caught off guard by seeing those 2 cards when I filled out the prescreen offer, it was always nothing to offer before. So it seems everything I have done this year to build is working out now.

Here's what I don't understand.. my credit is great and they've not pre-screened me for anything. They even sent me a CSP mailer! I don't understand.
Go to Chase site and fill out the prescreened offer they have, it doesn't affect your score no need to wait for them to send u stuff.
Based on that information then I would say go for it, regardless of whether you make the cap one deposit or not (I'd rather not have my money tied up just to get a slightly bigger limit - an unsecured like the chase freedom is a ticket up to prime). With a history with the bank you are in a great situation (that's how I got my foot in the door). You may get a smallish limit given the max on your other lines (you can ask for a recon if your not happy with it - given your relationship, good history they may be willing to extend you a larger line), but given a reasonable history and good usage it will grow reasonably quickly. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
