Chase product change abs CLI questions

Good morning,

I have 2 quick questions from others with more experience than me.

1. I've been reading the Chase CLI is no a soft pull, is that accurate? I tried going to chase.com and looking for the option but it told me there are no CLI offers at the moment. I'm requesting, not looking for an offer, so do I need to call? Only going to do this if it's a soft pull! Current fico 834, 844 and 850. CL is 11200.

In addition , on the same card, it has no rewards (slate).

We want to do a product change and switch cards. For our needs, I think we want a card with no Annual fee and we don't need the travel perks (since we never go anywhere). Based on this, I'm guessing cash back would be best. That means chase flex (the one with 5% quarterly categories) will be our best rewards card. We already have one of those with Disco so didn't want to repeat but options are limited with no annual fee and no emphasis on travel.

To do a product change, do we need to call? I was trying to find a chat and they offering that as an option. It's my husband's card and he hates talking to people 🙄

Thanks on advance!

Yes - call for the PC.  I'd ask about the CLI first.
