Chase recon question

So here's the deal, I applied for chase amazon platinum visa. I got the denial letter in the mail last Wednesday. The reason, too many inquiries. All of the inquiries were for a mortgage that I was approved for and closed on 1/24/12. So I called the recon number and the guy mentioned that I just needed to verify address with them since it's a new address. So I faxed in a copy of my utility bill and a copy of my ss card. Today I called the number to check the status of the application and it's telling me that the application is under review and that it would be processed in 7-10 days. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it mean I got approved?

I ended up applying for Amex Zync over the weekend and I got my approval today so it's really ok if I get denied, just wondering what others have experienced with their chase recons.

Thanks to this board, without the stories from people on here I would not have had the nerve to apply for the zync!

I dont think they would request to verify your address to deny you. Amex did the same thing to me they wanted to verify my mailing and address and when i did i was instantly approved.

Re: Chase recon question

It's a good sign, if they wanted to decline it would've just been declined. Sounds like they are working on approving you provided you verify your address.

Re: Chase recon question

I called the automated system for checking application status, and I called 1 (888) 270-2127 which is the number listed on the letter with my original denial.

The lady I spoke with at that last number said she couldn't tell me anything. I'm scared to keep calling as in I don't want to piss them off!

Re: Chase recon question

I hope so, this chase card and the Zync card are the first cards I've applied for in years! I was traumatized by denials back in the rebuilding Phase.
