Chase recon question

I was recently declined for the Chase +1 Student card for insufficient credit history. I only have a Chase SW Visa and an AMEX that is new; I use the SW alot and always PIF. I decided to call and try to get my application over turned. The first time I called the lady sounded like she was in a bad mood and said she couldn't do anything. The second time I called, a man answered; he said that he could update the application and put household income (He said there wasn't any income for me on file?) as well as my college information. He put me on hold for a while and then came back to tell me he'd resubmit the application, as well as recommend it for approval and that I should be hearing back from them within 7-10 business days. As far as scores, they're all above 750. Just not enough history..Smiley Sad What are the chances something like this goes through?

Re: Chase recon question

I called back just to ask more questions about the application and the person who answered said that it was approved with a CL of $300. I'm happy that the inquiry was put to good use, but I'm just wondering, how hard it will be to get a CLI in the future? Is that a normal starting CL for their student card?

Re: Chase recon question

Congrats on the approval! I had to recon for my Chase +1 Student card as well, but it was mostly extra verification due to a FA on my EQ file. I had to send in copies of my SS card and DL. My initial limit was $1,000 and still is; I've only had the card since Jan. and will try for an increase next Jan. Smiley Wink
