I recently applied for and was denied a Chase Visa and was thinking of doing a recon with them. I know you can apply at a branch office but has anyone done a recon at one? I've done this successfully with Wells Fargo. Thanks for all replies.
Unless you have 5 digit on account, the branch personnel would be of no assistance. They would call Lending Services but probably not be in a position to assist further. Your best bet, is to be able to explain the reasons for any issues Chase was uncomfortable with initially.

What is your score?
Do you know denial reasons yet?
Creditaddict.. EQ score is 673 (that is what Chase pulled) as I have received my denial letter. Chase was great in telling me their reason for denial....BK ... and not listing auto denial reasons. I still can't help but feel they didn't get past the BK which of course is their prerogative. Still pre BK I had a great relationship with them. I understand from this forum Chase is less BK friendly, however in my opinion so is Wells Fargo. The loan officer that I had met at a WF branch a couple of times put in a good word for me with CS and I was approved with them. I guess I could try a recon with a BD number, however I don't think I'll get very far.

It never hurts to try does it? Go ahead and call. You have already been told no, it cannot get any worse. Who knows, you may end up getting a favorable response.

How old is bk?
It was probably system declined.
Look in helpful threads above, back door numbers and call chase recon
+1 and was Chase IIB?
Chase wasn't burned and I'm 4 years out. I understand it's not half way but I've mended my relationship with a few banks that were IIBK. Regardless of the reason, I had 100% prior payment history with all my cc's..... but a BK is a BK.

yeah chase is kind of like amex with BK... most need to be 75% of the way through if not completely before they get back in.
I don't know who you managed to get a hold of at Wells but i have an account listed as bk not even a bk and i was pre-approved and could not get a recon... they were impossible.
Good luck, but to be honest I wouldnt hold your breath on the recon. I was shut down fast during my 4 recon attempts. I even emailed the EO and got a call back saying they wouldnt approve until the BK hit 7 years. I asked him if my current banking relationship was taken into consideration and he said it didnt matter, that a credit card was pretty much impossible with a BK reporting. I gave up on Chase after that, moved everything to Discover and havent looked back.
