They are pretty accurate.
I'd have to say Slate. Last year I was denied for a Freedom but approved for a Slate.
if you get any offers thru thier preapproval process I'd say your good to go with whatever they choose to offer yu.
I have the amazon and the slate cards and of course the slate card is about worthless after the promotional period. This morning I applied for a slate card in my wifes name and it was approved at the speed of light, even before I released the "submit" button. She has excellent credit, we just need to move a smallish balance off Sallie Mae before their promotional period ends and interest charges occur.
Paying large sums to vet specialists for a sick dog isn't fun. Wife says they can harvest my organs if the dog needs them. ![]()

You are correct that the Slate is a total no frills card although Chase is preparing to offer free mmonthly Fico scores to Slate cardholders. Still pretty worthless nonetheless. ![]()
I have to admit the only good thing I got out of the card was an opportunity to build a relationship with Chase. Less than a year later I got a CSP.
My "in" with them was with a Freedom card and I only got a $500 limit. A few months later I was pre-aproved for a Slate, applied got a 5K limit and moved $4,500 over my Freedom. Then a couple months after THAT I was approved for a CSP with a 5K limit.
Thanks to all who have responded to this thread. Not only full of information but when I see similar responses I become more confident to pursue!!!!!

I think the SW cards may quite possibly be some of the easiest approvals and most valuable ways to get in w/Chase.

That's how I got in with them at all. $5k limit right off the bat for me after some verification and doing a bit of talking through recon about my relationship with Chase and all this stuff.
When you guys refer to "SW", what does that mean? If you guys don't mind sharing, what where you current situations to have to take a certain course of action? Thanks for all the insight you guys can give!!!!
