I was at a parking garage, and my chip cards wouldn't work at the pay station - said it "couldn't read" the card. I came across the same problem when trying to buy an RTD ticket at the lightrail station.
What other types of merchants have you found unable to read/accept cards with chips? I want to be prepared.
even if it does not take chip. you should still be able to swipe like any other place. i found that circle k here in florida. does not read the chip. even they have it. i just swipe instead after the decline. that is that merchants option to enable it or disable it for now.
Lowe's in my city. However, I've noticed that some merchants either position the readers in an upright position preventing one from inserting the card in that slot or place some barrier over it.
Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

I tried the cards in these machines, and received error messages that the cards could not be read. Tried three of them, each more than once. Fourth card, sans chip, worked immediately.
only card I use for chip reader enabled machine is diners club card, and it works flawlessly at walmart's register. Target's got their chip reader slots blocked, but when i swipped the card, it still went through. Sprouts's machine dosn't read the chip for some reason, but paypass works, so you can do that as well.
In my area Academy sports has them but doesnt work, Stripes convenience stores, H-E-B, and Sutherlands home improvement stores.
