Did Orchard kick and scream when you canned them?
I am looking to axe barclays and chase if they don't pony up a decent cli this spring. Other than that all is good!
i Wouldnt say screamed but they where persistent that I keep my account, no thank you moved on to prime cards now.
The chopping block for 2013...hmmm
Capital One --- b/c their customer service just bothers the crap out of me.
Macy's --- I don't even shop there anymore and the limit is bad. I'd do better with a JCP card.
Amazon --- I haven't used this card on a official capacity but I might keep it open for when I buy my new desktop and take advantage of the 0% financing
US Bank Flex Perks -- Opened this card to get next to Cash+...if that doesn't work out...gonna get rid of this card.
for me:
Merrick Bank Visa-650 limit, annual fee, high APR, plus despite excellent payment history (PIF every month for last 8 months), instead of rewarding me with a CLI they sent me a letter warning me that if i opened anymore new accounts they may be forced to close my account with them.
Capital One MC-750 limit, annual fee, had over a year and i know i will never see a CLI in my lifetime with them.
Chevron/Texaco Gas card- 400 limit, just hasnt grown on me cuz they keep denying me a CLI and had it for 10 months.

@L-TWT wrote:I contemplated giving my AmEx BCP the boot in 2013, B/C i hate paying an AF for a CC, even if I tend to re-cap the AF with rewards gained. Although, BCP is my oldest trade-line I was not concerned about a nose dive in my credit score, what goes down will come back up & vice versa. So I called AmEx spoke with a front line CSR about closing acct, transferred to retention dept., and they lowered my APR down from 10.24% to 8.24% and lowered my AF from $75 to $25, so i folded!
Wow, I didn't know they would be flexible with the AF on BCP. Would try it now except it is useful (and, via backdating, my oldest TL going back to 1987) and don't want them to call my bluff and close....
AmEx can be VERY flexible, only thing I have yet to see AmEx allow is PC'ing a revolver <----> charge card. But your right, If you are not actually planning on cancelling the card I would not call their bluff, B/C in my opinion I think their BCP is their best product offering. I just came to the conclusion that from this year forward I refuse to pay for anything thats not necessary and TRY not to live above my means but below!

I've already axed a bunch of cards..Any that were under 5K, I closed out..As I have many over 10K..I don't mind paying member ship fees as long as I can max out the rewards
