Citi AA World Mastercard Revolving Line Question...

My AA world elite mastercard has a credit limit of 5k

Would I be able to charge 8k

Does citi have a thing like Amex where you can see if a charge will go through.

If not, should I call Citi before the charge to see if they will approve the 3k?

Thank you

It depends on whether your current card has had this type of history/spending pattern in the past.  If in doubt, call Citi just to make sure your overline charges don't get declined.

If your card is NPSL, then you might be able to. CSRs won't be able to tell you ahead of time.

whether they approve those charges is dependent upon type and amount of charge, and your internal score and history with citi.

Re: Citi AA World Mastercard Revolving Line Question...

I thought ALL "World Mastercards" with Citi have that NPSL

and cards that don't have "World" on them with Citi have a fixed credlit limit (not revolving)

Did I read something wrong

Re: Citi AA World Mastercard Revolving Line Question...

Yes what you said is correct.

However the NPSL feature isn't like Amex's NPSL either. Sometimes your hard limit might just be your CL. There's no way to tell other than to just try charge it and see if it goes through. If it doesn't, you can call CSR to see if they can work something out for you though.

It would depend on the T&C associated with that specific World version.  Not sure what you mean by "fixed credlit limit (not revolving)"  All of their products are revolving, did you mean NPSL?

+1

It is at their discretion, it's on the T&C.
