odd_dog - where is your US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature? A hole in your excellent card portfolio. Have you considered what you will do when Chase converts your Freedom MC to a Visa Card (later this year they tell me)? Have the same question myself. Envy your card portfolio.

I, too, was recently approved on the 24th of March, with a limit of $8.5k on the plat WMC. I noticed the "act now" message also, but paid it no mind. Then I finally checked it today, and same message as the rest of you. Waiting anxiously for that mail man today lol

If my count is correct, you're the 6th upgrade since I noticed this yesterday morning.  So far, the only commonality is new accounts with CL's on the higher side (5K+).

Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your upgrade to WEMC version.  I'm wondering if Citi is upgrading all the recent $5k+ WMC cards to WEMC first, and then slowly upgrading the other existing account holders....just a thought.  I know @axledobe was recently approved for the card, so hmmmm...

I definitely agree with mxp114 about Citi eventually upgrading all WMC cards soon enough to WEMC, perhaps a new MC Tier is about to start knocking our doorsteps. Smiley Wink

Re: Citi AA card upgrade before 1st statement?!?

Not to post jack but just a question:

For those who got upgraded and were planning on closing this card before AF hit, is now having elite status enough to make u hold on to it and actually put some spend on it? Personally I'm seriously considering finding a way to justify keeping this card. With CSP/Freedom it might be tough to put any real spend on it but dont really want to risk losing elite either.

Thanks!  That'd be a nice thing, I just hope they don't raise the AF in the process.

I was actually gonna keep mine, and cancel my TYP and consolidate that limit. I'll be flying exclusively AA and USAirways now, so it'll be good for me to keep.

This also got me thinking again...while upgrading to WEMC is exciting for many, I'm sure they will pay the AF to keep their new WEMC status....more money in Citi's pocket!  I'm wondering if this is Citi's way of marketing the product.... and if MC introduces the new tier soon, then WEMC won't be as attractive anymore as it is now.  What then?  For those who are willing to pay the AF now to keep the 'Elite' status might get furious lol

I've had a small chat w/ mxp114 about my Barclays Hawaiian in the past, comparing notes about the benefits guide.  He asked about the benefits of my WEMC provided for my Hawaiian ($3k) and the benefits guide for my WEMC was the same as the WMC, such as basic $250k flight insurance where as back in the days WE provided $1M.
