Yes the miles generally post quickly on my accts too. Im still grieving the whole CVS VR deal 
though so not bothering for a 2nd Executive AAdvantage card.
For the Platinum its generally 12-24 months between apps. Most people are good after 18 months. YMMV

Yes, in some areas it still works but should be blocked network wide by April 4th. Lots of people stocking up if they are in areas still taking cards.

Yep, just finished my 10k initial spend thankfully. It is sad to see VRs go, but I only relied on them for high initial spend requirements (like if I got multiple cards with high spends at once etc). Was considering getting another citi exec card, but I'm not going to run another 10k of spend. Oh well easy come easy go.
