Congrats lhcole! I never had much luck getting Citi to reallocate, but I usually lose patience after being told "no" once.
Interestingly, I just closed out an Executive AAdvantage (I still have another one I left open) and this CSR went nuts on me. She didn't even rattle off the usual benefits, just went right into "why on earth would you ever close this card? Nobody ever closes this card....." She was just beside herself that I didn't want to keep it as a spare, as she put it. Of course no retention offers. I didn't have the heart to say I was doing this to make room for my next round of expansion, but it was the most entertaining conversation I've had with anyone from Citi.
This is interesting. I actually wouldn't mind re-allocating some of my Double Cash available balance to my other Citi card. How do you contact the EO?
congrats
A HP to reallocate lines seems bogus. Honestly I would have taken the HP to just request a CLI on the Double Cash card. Everyone has been getting good limits after requesting a CLI upon activation of the card. I went from $5500 > $15k.
Thanks for feedback. HP on EQ showed up this morning. 7 pt drop. Okay with that because I am planning to be in the garden for the next year.
Thought about requesting a CLI but when I did on my Simplicity last month Citi didn't really budge. They gave me a SP CLI from 7.2K to 8.5K and when I hit the HP CLI button I only was able to get $700 more. They said that was the most they were willing to extend me at the time. Based on that I didn't want to push my luck with the a CLI request on the DC. Reallocating was my best bet IMO.
I figure with one card at 6.8K and the other at 5K I can grow these via SP CLIs.

Thanks, B335i. LOL about the CSR.
Frontline CSRs told me it couldn't be done. Luckily EO knew better. HAYYYY!

Based on the posts in this thread I called the Citi EO and explained my interest in reallocating credit lines. The EO said give them a couple of days as they may be able to do a credit line increase and not need to do a credit line reallocation (but would try to get me what I asked for either way from the credit department). Results are pending and I did authorize a hard inquiry since a soft pull for a credit line said they needed a hard inquiry.
I will be awaiting your update with bated breath.....
