I know that I've read here before that you can call Citi and ask for a CLI based on the original HP at some point after getting approved
Is the time to call right after approval or once you receive the card?
IIRC, once you receive the card. I recall some individuals took it up to the EO but were told to wait until card was received. Now, the jury's still out on whether you'd incur a 2nd HP since there were mixed results for folks who leveraged the same HP when approved or incurred a 2nd one.

Oh thanks for the info. Not liking the idea of a second HP. But you need to go the route of the EO and not regular CSRs?

I think some individuals used the EO to avoid the possible 2nd HP but there were also plenty who were contacting front line CSRs (albeit 2nd pull). During the Citi DC 'fever" it seems like there were several successes with obtaining a decent CLI if the SL wasn't flexible enough.
Which Citi CC are you planning on getting?

I got the AA card a little bit ago. Just wondering if I can get more than the $16500 they approved me for or am I just being greedy
you create an account online and request CLI and it will instantly come back that it couldn't do it automatically but you can request review... more than likely it will be another hp but many successful in doing it and going much larger... like $4-$7k to $15-$25k limits! if they ask enough and don't chicken out!

Ahhhh... sneaky! Congratulations btw! I'd say out the door that's a pretty good SL. I was approved for HHonors Reserve last year - $17,500 and the CL has been more than adequate. Now, if your spending patterns will outgrow the CL over time, then you can entertain getting something a little higher. I simply stayed put since I'm going for the AA Biz this year and did not want to hit ceiling with them given my overall Citi exposure.
So I suppose it's your decision, and I assume this would be your first Citi CC?

Thanks Creditaddict. I had forgotten about the online request option. The only risk would be the 2nd HP so aim high if anything.
