Citi Card posts to account when?

Just was approved for a Citi card and got hit on My EQ score. I want to apply for another card bc I didn't get a high CL, but I have to make sure I apply before the citibank card is posted to all three credit reports. Does anyone know when this is actually posted? How long does it take after you get approved to appear as a new account?

My plan is -  while I am applying for credit I might has well apply in packs. I just have to make sure I apply for cards that don't check the same CRA bc then it will see that I JUST had an inquriy. So I have to be careful, but I want to apply b4 they find out I just did.

THANKS!

Just recently I read that someone checked her credit reports while she was put on hold when applying for a credit card by phone. The inquiry was already there!

Re: Citi Card posts to account when?

I know the inquiry would be there. It pops right right away. That is not what I am asking. I am asking when does the tradeline actually appear? Once that appears if you apply for credit everyone will see that i new account was just created.

Re: Citi Card posts to account when?

In that case, I asked the same question over on the scoring forum eight minutes before you did so here. I have received no responses yet.

My assumption is the TL will appear on the credit reports a few days after the first statement cutoff. I think it takes a month with Amex.

I'm not sure you should be concerned though. Having a new credit card post on your credit reports could make you gain some points or lose some points.

An inquiry in itself is an indication you have applied for credit. It damages no matter what. And harder.

Re: Citi Card posts to account when?

it really depends on the company.  we just applied for a citi card about 10-12 days ago & it's not on the reports yet.  but the amazon card that i applied for about 3 days after that already is.  hopefully someone can tell us, i'd really like it to show up already Smiley Mad

Re: Citi Card posts to account when?

Citi reports a couple days after your statement is generated, so it should show up on your reports around this time next month.

Re: Citi Card posts to account when?

I applied for my citi on 7/13 and got a score watch on equifax for a inquiry. Just got a alert again that a new account had been added on 8/8. So citi adds your account as soon as your statement cut. Because a day before I looked on line and my payment was due. Also I lose 1 point for new account not bad now IM at 673 on equifax. Low score due to utilization, trying get that down.

Good to hear. What was your score difference when the account was added after the statement cut?

I must have been asleep still not catching that. And thanks for the second response.

Now that I'm semi-awake, congratulations on the good news. Certainly wasn't bad news.
