Just a reminder that we are not in normal times. Unless you're putting heavy use through a card/getting close to your limit, companies might not want to extend extra credit just for funsies. You could always try carrying a balance. I'm not saying don't try ... it's a SP so I would keep trying until I got it, but you should disconnect the emotional response you seem to get from your various denials. Either take a break or be less bothered by it. They aren't out to get you.

Is a CLI request for Citi/Costco a SP or HP?
How long after card opening would one be considered for a CLI or is a CLI request doable?
Reponding to myself lol
Starting to get really frustrated with Citi/Costco.
I have another thread somewhere mentioning my previous escapades with C/C but in a nutshell:
- Tried for a CLI on 4/21, DECLINED, BK was still on report
- Tried for a CLI on 5/16, DECLINED, BK was still on report even though it should not be. It was said that C/C goes by their report and even BK was officially off CB report, it has to be off C/C's report since they don't do a CLEAN report when you submit a CLI, it depends on their report.
- So TODAY 6/3, I see C/C's FiCO is refreshed and I see it shot up to 774 and on their report BK is now officially off. Submitted for a CLI, DECLINED again. I will supposedly get a response in 3-days.
This is ridiculous. I have never seen it so difficult to get a CLI in my life. Even a 774 score doesn't pull one. You would think since the previous time it mentioned the BK that now that its not showing it would pass. Thank G** these are SPs. I think that's it for me with trying for a CLI with C/C. The way things are going I could have an 800 score and not get approved for a measly CLI.
When C/C provides the reason WHY they declined me, I will update for DP sake
You have to first understand a high credit score does not mean you will get a cli or even a good sl. Score alone , ime, does nothing really. Getting denied from Citi is more computer based than actually Citi/ Costco . Heck everytime i hit cli request on my core Citi cards its instant rejection for 3 straight years. Not a snowball in hell chance im getting one but knowing it before hand helps the emotion part. Also knowing your current profile and current economic environment helps. If you know your total exposure in comparison to your income you can guess more or less if there is meat left on the bone. If you know we are in a Pandemic then you know cli might come less often . If its a sp, hit it, if fail just try again next month and so on. Leave emotion, in example of course, for not liking Penfed or missing out on a AOD approval

I hear what your saying, and I know my post was "aggravation" heavy But IMO if Citi is telling me that they reason I have been previously denied a CLI was because of a BK, and now my BK is gone and my score is even better than my last denial, I have to admit I was expecting an approval this time. But then again, I need to think of the economy (Pandemic) and my spend (currently a negative balance on Citi because of some returns) could be reasons as well.
But like you said, there's always next month. I was letting Citi frustration get to me - I am OK now
@Wavester64 wait for the letter
Sometimes it takes a while for changes to reflect internally.
You might be seeing new score, but it may not be properly reflected in Citi's internal record.
If it's new accounts, you know what to do. When that reason starts showing up, especially with multiple lenders, you've hit the wall that only time can break.

OK, so I got the email concerning why they declined me for CLI and STILL they are saying it's because of BK on my report , which is impossible since they are saying EQ is saying this and there is no BK on my EQ report, and even if they are going by their own report, even theirs doesn't show me as having a BK on my report anymore. Should I RECON a CLI request? Let it go? Wait until next month?
I was thinking about calling but I don't want Citi doing a HP.

Your two choices are to either wait and allow their system to update with newer information. #2 option: Take a HP and request what you want.
I'd give it a few months and allow the old data to be purged from their system and try again.
It took a full year before I received my first SP CLI with Citi.

Go back and read what I wrote about UW catching up to your report.
This is not Citi specific, there are plenty of lenders who lag this way by 2-3 weeks at least.
If you were to request CLI right now (dont do it lol), does it show HP or SP language?

It shows SP language. I wound up calling Citi RECON and they directed me to call CS. I called CS and spoke to a very nice CS rep, explained the situation, and at first she said I would need to file a dispute since they get the information from EQ. I told her I got a paid copy of my EQ report just yesterday and the BK is not on there now nor has it been for a month or so, so I can't dispute anything. She then spoke to a colleague, and then ask if I was getting my report from one of those FREE sites (i.e. Credit Karma) or is my BK on any of the other reports, and I told her no and no. She was stumped. I suggested if she wanted to try submitting one on my behalf, as long as it wasn't a HP and she said sure, she did and got the same result. So she was stumped again. Her next suggestion was to keep trying whenever I want until it changes since its a SP and it wont affect my score and she said she would note my account the discrepancy in the reporting.
Very odd. At least I feel better knowing its not me. I'll wait for now, nothing dire, try every so often to see if anything changes when I do try. Stay tuned
