I've been considering the Citi Custom Card due to 5% cash back at a certain category. I've seen some people use it at gas stations, which I frequent a lot due to my work.
Anyone have any experience with this card and starting credit limit and the ins and outs?
Has your BK fallen off yet from 2013? Was Citi burned? I have no experience with Citi cores cards. Just co-branded cards.

I have (2) Citi custom cash cards ..however I did not apply for them directly,
they are a result of product changes from other Citi legacy/core cards.
Citi does not really like recent inquiries and recent new accounts... IMO
You can read some Custom Cash approval's here for further DP's;
Thank you for the advice and information.
Would you be willing to offer any of your profile? As stated, Citi does not like a lot of inquiries/apps but "a lot" can be profile dependent.
Do note that the maximum on any 5% category is $500 per statement.
I have the CCC card which is my dedicated grocery card. I have no problems with the card and collecting my rewards. The app was a bit tricky which caused me to pay my first statement twice over. Citi promptly refunded the overpay. What's confusing is after my application during the wait time I got a letter from Citi stating my application for the card was denied because of too many recent credit inquiries on my record yet they still sent the card which I activated and am presently using.
Custom Cash is probably the most frequently used card in my wallet.
It's a wild card that covers whatever Chase and Discover are not giving me 5% on that quarter. Usually it's my gas stations card, and I'm spending money in gas stations every day. This quarter, both the Chase Freedom Flex and Discover it Cash back have 5% back at gas stations. Last month and this month I've been working out of town a lot, staying in motels. (Employer books and pays for motels, so I get no travel rewards ) I'm eating out a lot more than usual, nearly every evening. The Custom Cash is my restaurant card right now.
This is exactly right. Whatever your other 5% rotators don't cover in any given month/quarter? The citi CC is there to fill in. It's a very powerful card.
For me, this quarter, none of my 5% rotators - Freedom, Disco, or nusenda - covered dining so.... citi CC to the rescue.

Same here, applied for Custom Cash several times, always declined, but, applied for the AAdvantage Executive card, and they gave me 30.5K. Go figure.

That's because even though both are "Citi" they are two different divisions of the bank and are managed separately.
The Citi Custom Cash is a card so nice I got it twice. Look at that I'm a poet and didn't even know it.
