I saw a previous thread that mentioned that you had to wait until the AF posted to PC, however I was able to call in today to get my Altitude Connect PC'ed to a Cash+, without any annual fee being charged to my account.
Any existing points I was told would be redeemed towards my account as statement credit, so no points are lost in the process.

For the thread in question it wasn't so much about that you had to wait but more a proper procedure to show the bank that you're not doing any obvious churning. This will matter with banks like AMEX for instance that frown upon early closure and can prevent you from getting other cards in their portfolio without the signing bonus. I wouldn't make it a habit of doing this

Got it - good to know, thank you. I will keep you updated on anything that happens, but I suspect I should be good at least for US Bank.

I just product changed my U.S. Bank Altitude Connect, which I got on September 8, 2022 to an Altitude Go (my second Altitude Go - got my first one August 16, 2021) before the annual fee hit on the Connect. And, what's better is, they sent me an email to "upgrade" from the Connect to Go, so I took it.
I did end up missing the deadline on the email upgrade, too. It was July 17, 2023. But, I found the email, "took it," and it told me to call in. So I did and they said the offer was still on my account to "upgrade," so I did. Another data point, i guess.

I'm glad to see the PC option on the Connect is still available... I PC'd my Connect to a second Cash+ last year and it's been great having a second set of 5% categories each quarter.
Don't be surprised if you still see occasional references to the old Connect card when using the app. After all this time I still do, but the card acts (and has rewards) like a proper Cash+ so I just ignore it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You are not the first person I have seen talk about getting a second Alt Go, my question is why? The 4% already has no cap, why not go for at least the cash+? Even if you don't think you have a use for it, 2 Go's is kinda useless.

@Beefy1212 Fair question. And, I debated the PC to Cash +. The 5% off on gym/fitness looked good, but my gym gives me a 10% discount for withdrawing from my checking account, plus allows to go montly payment (credit cards they require the year paid in full - stupid, I know). And, I have other cards always offering Lyft deals (for ground transpertation), so I just didn't see me using a Cash+ that much. So, I figured I'd get another Go card, and take the $15 annual credit on streaming services. Just use it for that. Basically a free month of NetFlix. That was my line of thinking. If I see the use for another Cash+, I'll change back. Otherwise, yeah, it would make no sense, I agree.
