Citi DC- Return Payment

Earlier last week I made a payment on my CITI DC card, no payment was due until Febraury. I set up my bank account but it would't let me make a payment because a statement wasn't cut. I called and a 175.00 dollar payment was made, I check my account today and it still shows orignal balance, so I look through my transcations and it shows a return payment. I immediately call them and they stated that they couldn't find my bank account; I gave the CSR my banking inforamtion and she stated thats what we have on file. OK? So i call my bank and they say sometimes credit companies want the whole checking account number;  my bank only requires an x amount of numbers to vailidate my account . I have each of my credit cards set up this way and there has never been an issue. I call CITI again and state that appears that you need all my digits so here it is. My question is; will there be a AA?

There shouldn't be any AA, no. Strange situation though. I raised my eyebrows a few times when it came from making payments (adding/verifying accounts, setting up autopay, etc.) for my Double Cash card before my first statement was cut. I just waited until then and everything worked out. Best of luck.

Re: Citi DC- Return Payment

I must say it was a very odd situation, since I have never heard such thing. I have the The Place Card backed by CITI and I had no problem making payments. My main concern was the AA, this was a must have card for me. In the next few months I'm going to closing some CC that have little to no benifit. I have come to the realization that I'd rather have less cards with higher CL. The possible internal ding  I'll have no choice but to deal until my accounts age over year and inquires fall so I will have less reason for denial for a CLI. Patience Patience Patience! Thank you for the feedback, it has eased my mind!Smiley Happy

Re: Citi DC- Return Payment

Glad I am not the only who experienced an odd situation with the CITI DC!  On a side not I was in a rush to pay because I am in the process of bringing down my utilization! It's less then 20% overall and cards are under 30%, I just hate the feeling of being in any form of "debt". I have learned my lesson thats for sure!
