Citi DC Sign Up Bonus Issues

Hey guys:

 

Just wanted to put a warning out there. I got a letter today from Citi stating that my account is not enrolled in the $100 bonus offer. Apparently there is a certain link that applies the offer. I thought I had seen the offer on the link I went through, maybe redirection unapplied the correct link? Either way I gave them a call and surprisingly got a very nice CSR (have not had good expereinces with them so far) who applied $10 cash back to my account for the trouble and said she put a request in to have the offer applied to my account.

 

I have had more issues with Citi in my 2 weeks with them than my other cards combined. After putting some spend through it I would have normally put on other cards, mostly gas stations, I'm to the point where if they cannot apply the offer I will most likely cancel the card upon hitting the redemption threshold, finish my gardening, and move on to a competitor.

 

Not sure if this offer is even still available but hoping to save someone the headache I have had since day one with Citi (first purchase marked as possible fraud). Thought I had everything with them finally squared away but they seem determined to make my experience with them as unpleasant as possible. Wander what's coming next?

Just an update for anyone who may have come across this, gave Citi a call back since it's been over a week since my last call to them and after the CSR spoke with a specialist they said they would apply the $100. I put the $500 spend through it within the first month and they said since I had called a few times about it they would apply the bonus. The past few CSRs I have spoken with have been extremely polite and helpful so they have successfully regained my trust they had lost in the first couple weeks. So thank you Citi for steppin it up!

 

I now feel much better about keeping this as a long term card. Again though if you apply for this card with the sign up bonus in mind make sure to apply through the correct link and keep an eye open for any website redirections that may occur to hopefully avoid this situation.

 

And just a little side note: The CSR even put me on a hold that spared me their usual hold music that cuts in and out constantly lol. Small thing but she told me she was doing it on purpose and if I had any questions just to ask and she'd hear me and I really did appreciated it.
