Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

The lowest credit limit I have is from my Citi DC card, which I've had for almost 2 years.

During all that time I've never gotten a soft pull CLI opportunity. 3 or 4 times I applied for a CLI with a HP, and was denied each time.

Today, for the very first time, I had a soft pull CLI offer, and thought 'finally they're ready to do something'.

I pulled the lever, and of course... it was denied.

What were your reasons for HP denial? SP denial letter will be available electronically tomorrow if you're in paperless

Re: Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

Sorry to SJ, that really stinks. You would think with your credit they would at least give the sp luv. Whats the most they give on sp, 14-1600 ? Not gonna break the bank there and for having the card 2 years and no love , im sorry to hear such things. Nowhere near you in terms of credit, just finished 1st 6 months with Citi but i already know im not gonna give no more hard pulls for Citi lovin. Do you think you will close it now or sd it?

Re: Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

Hey SJ. Sorry for denial.  Seeing your post prompted me to try again for a SP increase. I logged in, got the SP verbiage for the first time in over a year, tried to get an increase on my double cash and no go as well. Said a HP would be needed. Sooooo, no thanks.

Interesting though, I have three different cards with them and the DC was the only one with the SP verbiage.

I don't recall. I don't even recall them ever telling me.

On the site they still have me with a 700 EQ FICO Bankcard 8 score, even though my present score is 773. Maybe they're going with the old score.

I've been with them almost 2 years and this was the first time I'd ever seen -- on my own screen -- that soft pull language. I had to do a double take, thought maybe I'd been reading MyFICO so long I was starting to hallucinate Smiley Happy

Re: Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

Same. Opened my AA card in June '15 and have always received the SP cli language but always denied to to a paid CO on my EQ. Now, I'm hopeful however because the status date on it is 10/15 and if they do an AR after that this year then maybe, just maybe I'll get it. I spoke with a credit analyst at Citi and they mentioned not caring about any negs over a year old. Not sure if this would apply to automated or manual reveiws

Re: Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

I would think even though its the bankcard fico 8 , a 700 would qualify you for at least a bump, more so with an actual hard pull. My last check i was like 633 and for some reason i keep falling like the proverbial rock off a jilted cliff. Always make my payments and do all the right things but with Citi score just keeps droping. Thats why i have just stopped even looking at the request credit line bar , ignorance is blissSmiley Happy

Re: Citi DC Soft Pull CLI Denial

Sounds familiar. Citi has never given me an HP or SP increase on my Citi Double Cash. Called the csr for their explanation and they said I had hit the internal risk limit (based on income, market place total available credit, and Citi credit). What I did do was close the legacy CIti Forward Visa and move the CL to the Citi DC and they did that using the HP that they pulled for the denied CLI I requested. Guess I am done with CLIs with Citi.
