How many inquiries is too many for Citi Double Cash Card? In this old FICO forum thread, the person was rejected with only 4 inquiries in his/her EX credit report.

Can someone else share their experience with Citi Bank?
[Edit] I have been approved for the card.

Unfortunately, I think that this is going to be a heavy "YMMV" thing. I think I had 2-3 inqs when I applied. However, they appear to be pretty stingy with their underwriting standards and give out fairly low starting limits.

I'm a firm believer that the number of inquiries you have is never the main reason for a denial. I was approved for 3 Citi cards to totalling $75K in credit with over 10 inquiries on EQ and EX for each one.

I would assume with those kind of approvals, your income is probably on the high end, yes? That does matter too.
I agree inquiries are overrated to a point. Of course, less is better, especially with Double Cash which they are typically quite stingy with. That said, it's your overall file that matters.

+1 I had about 5 inq in that month alone, that I apped for DC.

It's up there. Income is certainly important in limits, though I'm not sure it affects the actual approval (unless overall exposure is an issue). Could be true about the DC and low limits as I don't have that card.
I've had good experience with Citi. They've double pulled me each app on EX and EQ, even with scores in the 750s and 760s, but have approved each app as well.
I've had a few HPs on both EX and EQ at time of app, somewhere between 2 and 4.
Cards are growing nicely and continue to get offers for their other cards.
Okay. I had an itchy finger and I applied. I was approved. I was kind of concerned because I was approved for the American Express Blue Cash Everyday and Discover it card last week.
But after reading the old thread that the person who complain about not getting approved but was approved through the back door, I thought my risk wasn't really high.

Congrats! What's your limit and APR? I'm curious, as Citi is notoriously pretty tight with this card.
